Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has arrived in Beijing to attend a two-day ministerial-level Global Civilization Dialogue beginning today. The event is organized in collaboration with the Publicity and International Departments of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The dialogue forms a key part of the Global Civilization Initiative, which is rooted in Chinese President Xi Jinping’s vision of fostering cultural exchange and global understanding.
Attaullah Tarar is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the sub-forum titled “Civilization Exchange and Mutual Learning: Cultural Heritage and Innovation.” His participation highlights Pakistan’s commitment to promoting cultural dialogue, media collaboration, and innovation-based partnerships.
During his visit, the minister has also held a meeting with Ms. Cao Shumin, Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, to discuss strengthening media cooperation between Pakistan and China. The discussion explored new avenues for cultural exchange and deepening mutual understanding.
Tarar’s participation in this high-profile forum underscores the strong ties between the governments and people of China and Pakistan and reflects their shared vision of promoting inter-civilizational dialogue.
Speaking about the event, the minister said that meaningful dialogue among civilizations is essential for achieving global peace, harmony, and development. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s active role in promoting such dialogue, while noting that growing media and cultural cooperation between Pakistan and China is helping bring their peoples closer.
He added that the forum offers a vital platform to cultivate mutual respect and encourage learning between diverse civilizations across the world.
