 Ambassador of China to Pakistan, H.E Nong Rong  called on Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Syed Murtaza Mahmud

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong called on Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Syed Murtaza Mahmud and exchanged views on range of bilateral issues of mutual interest and cooperation. Chinese ambassador told the minister that China has given financial assistance to flood affectees through Red Crescent Society and Chinese companies working in Pakistan are being mobilized for fund raising for the purpose. The minister said that the floods have cost heavy loss to the agricultural sector in flood areas especially different crops have been damaged badly. The minister said in order to enhance exports of Pakistan, both the countries can work together on long term policies and exchange ideas with regard to exporting zones because 700 processing zones are working in China while only 8 processing zones are operational in Pakistan. The minister said Pakistan has a big potential in agriculture sector especially fruits can be exported to China after its value addition. The minister stressed on the need to increase volume of chilli export although Pakistan is already exporting chilli to China. Chinese ambassador assured the minister to support Pakistani agricultural sector through modern technology and trained management to enhance yield of crops. The minister asked the Chinese companies, already working in mobile manufacturing, automobile and other sectors in Pakistan, to bring more investment to our country because we have a cheap and competitive labour to secure cost of production. The minister offered the ambassador to set up their industry in 1,500-acre Dhabeji special economic zone, manufacturer products and export to the world.
