On March 28, Ambassador Jiang Zaidong visited the branches of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and the Bank of China, where he engaged in discussions with Chinese employees of these institutions and the China-Pakistan Investment Company. During his visit, he also conveyed early Eid al-Fitr greetings to Pakistani employees. Minister Counselor Yang Guangyuan and Counselor Mi Tao from the Chinese embassy were present at the meeting.
The leaders of the three institutions—Zhu Wenlong, Zhou Bo, and Jiang Ketao—provided insights into their operations. They highlighted that in recent years, Chinese financial institutions have actively contributed to the development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) while facilitating cross-border RMB payments. Simultaneously, these institutions have experienced steady expansion in both scale and business. Moving forward, they plan to continue fulfilling their responsibilities and achieving further progress under the guidance of the Chinese embassy.
Ambassador Jiang Zaidong highly praised the role of these financial institutions in strengthening China-Pakistan cooperation. He encouraged them to enhance theoretical knowledge, ensure robust security measures, adhere to legal and regulatory frameworks, and prioritize employee welfare. He reaffirmed the embassy’s commitment to collaborating with these institutions to support the high-quality development of China-Pakistan relations and foster a shared future for both nations.
