On April 28, Ambassador Jiang Zaidong and Pakistani Minister of Food Security Hussain attended the distribution ceremony of China-aided agricultural machinery and equipment to Pakistan and delivered speeches.
Jiang Zaidong said that both China and Pakistan are traditional agricultural countries and both need to maintain food security so that their people can live a better life. The unilateral imposition of tariffs by the United States infringes upon the legitimate rights and interests of all countries, undermines the multilateral trading system, and endangers the efforts of developing countries to maintain food security. We are willing to work with Pakistan to resist unilateralism and tariff bullying and safeguard the common interests of the two countries and international fairness and justice.
Hussein said that China’s assistance will greatly help Pakistan’s agricultural development. Faced with the turbulent international economic situation, China has maintained its economic development resilience and demonstrated a bright growth prospect, injecting valuable certainty into promoting global economic development and playing a leading role in maintaining the world economic order and the multilateral trading system. Pakistan, like China, firmly supports the multilateral trading system and promotes common development and prosperity among countries.
