Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Hashmi attends World Maritime Equipment Conference and delivered an address on ‘High-Quality Development of Offshore Wind Power Supply Chain.’
Khalil Hashmi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, made his first official trip to Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian province in southern China, to attend the World Maritime Equipment Conference and speak at one of its side events.
During his speech at the seminar on the “High-Quality Development of Offshore Wind Power Supply Chain,” Ambassador Hashmi, who visited Fujian at the invitation of provincial authorities, emphasized Pakistan’s natural advantages, such as its extensive 1,000-kilometer coastline, and the country’s growing focus on transitioning to renewable energy sources.
The Ambassador acknowledged China’s rapid progress in the offshore wind industry and highlighted the importance of boosting bilateral cooperation through enhanced technology exchanges, infrastructure development, and regulatory support.
He invited Chinese investors to explore opportunities within Pakistan’s offshore wind industry, encouraging further collaboration between the two nations.
Ambassador Hashmi also met with senior officials in Fuzhou, including the city’s top political leader, Ms. Guo Ningning. Both sides reaffirmed the importance of strengthening Pakistan-China relations and expanding cooperation between Pakistan and Fuzhou within the broader bilateral framework.
The Ambassador emphasized Pakistan’s renewed focus on business-to-business (B2B) engagement with China and expressed his commitment to increasing interactions between the business communities of both nations, under the guidance of Pakistan’s leadership.
During his visit, the Ambassador toured the World Maritime Equipment Conference and was briefed on various topics, including urban planning, shipbuilding, and the province’s cultural landscape.
Fujian is a key center for China’s maritime industry advancements, poverty alleviation, and sustainable development initiatives. Chinese President Xi Jinping, who served in the province for approximately 17 years, including in Fuzhou, was instrumental in these efforts.
