Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha, Governor of Balochistan during a meeting with the German Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Bernhard Schlagheck termed CPEC a golden opportunity and invited German companies to reap the benefits of investment in Special Economic Zones being established under CPEC. Moreover, he hoped that Germany would further enhance cooperation with Pakistan in the fields of education, health, energy, tourism, and capacity building.
Balochistan provincial Governor Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha said on Wednesday afternoon that Germany should take advantage of the investment opportunities offered by the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
In a meeting with the German Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Bernhard Schlagheck, Agha maintained that CPEC is a golden opportunity for the region and the whole world.
“German investors took advantage of investment opportunities in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) under CPEC,” he observed.
The Governor mentioned that the economic and trade changes taking place in the region would usher in a new era of development and Pakistan had focused on geo-economics as well as geopolitics.
Referring to the relations between Pakistan and Germany, the Governor noted that it was a positive step that Germany was one of the major direct investors of the European Union in Pakistan.
Agha remarked that there were bright prospects for further enhancement of relations in the fields of solar energy, information technology, trade and tourism.
He said that lucrative investment opportunities were available in Pakistan and Balochistan under CPEC projects.
The Governor hoped that Germany would continue to support cooperation in the fields of education, health, energy, tourism, and capacity building.
The German ambassador agreed that CPEC offered good opportunities to the global investors. He promised to discuss these options with his government.
