“It was a great training course on burn diagnoses and the management of burn wounds and scar treatment,” Dr Fazal Rabi, Intensivist from Saidu Group of Teaching Hospital Swat, told Gwadar Pro . He was one of the 24 Pakistani participants of the training course undertaken by the International Exchange Center of Health Commission (IECHC) of Sichuan Province.
“Discussions and exchanges of views were part of the training course, which helped promote friendship between Chinese and Pakistani medical practitioners as well as resulting in cooperation in the field of medical and health care,” said the doctor. Doctors and healthcare professionals from different parts of the country participated in the training course.
Dr. Fazal Rabi and other participants of the training course received certificates and souvenirs in Chinese Embassy to Pakistan on Thursday.
The Foreign Aid Training Program, which was sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China, was conducted online during the second half of December 2021.
“We are thankful to China and we expect to receive more such training regarding capacity building from Chinese experts,” said Dr. Fazal Rabi.
The main activities of the training course included classroom lectures, discussions, and online visits to different health facilities. The Center also organized experts from relevant Chinese departments to present on the development history, policies and measures of China’s national conditions, special courses closely related to the theme of the training course, and the actual work of relevant medical institutions online.
Leading Chinese experts delivered lecturers on ‘Burn Diagnosis’, ‘First Aid of Burns’, ‘Burns of Special Causes’, ‘Management of Burn Wounds’, ‘Prevention and Treatment of Burn Wound Infection and Burn Complications’, ‘Scar treatment’, ‘Management of Complex Wounds with Infection’, ‘Comprehensive treatment of scar after burn’, ‘Surgical Treatment of Chronic Wound’ and ‘Overview of burn rehabilitation’ etc.
Online visits of different centers in leading Chinese hospitals were also arranged for the participants.
