Pakistan and Qatar have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral economic cooperation and expanding investment partnerships under the Joint Task Force on Trade and Investment.
The commitment was expressed during the task force’s second meeting in Doha, co-chaired by Pakistan’s Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs, Dr Ahmad bin Mohammed Al-Sayed.
Pakistan Invites Qatari Investment in Agriculture
During the meeting, Jam Kamal Khan invited Qatari investors to explore opportunities in Pakistan’s agricultural sector and related industries.
The proposed areas of cooperation included modern agriculture, grain storage facilities, silos, cold storage and integrated cold-chain infrastructure. He also highlighted opportunities in advanced farming technologies and information technology.
Investment in these sectors could support agricultural modernisation, improve storage and handling facilities, and strengthen supply-chain infrastructure.
Qatar Highlights Civil Aviation Cooperation
The Qatari side emphasised the importance of greater cooperation in civil aviation and air traffic between the two countries.
Enhanced coordination in these areas could support connectivity and strengthen links between Pakistan and Qatar.
The discussions formed part of broader efforts to identify opportunities for trade expansion, investment and economic collaboration through the joint task force.
Commerce Minister Meets World Investment Forum Head
Separately, Jam Kamal Khan met Nan Li Collins, head of the World Investment Forum, in Doha.
The meeting provided another opportunity for engagement on investment-related matters as Pakistan continues to explore international partnerships and attract foreign investment.
Pakistan and Qatar’s renewed commitment to economic cooperation highlights their shared interest in developing investment opportunities across agriculture, technology, infrastructure and other sectors.
