Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to intensify operations against cybercrime.
The directive targets online financial fraud, digital blackmail, harassment, and organized cybercrime networks.
Naqvi issued the instructions while chairing a meeting at the NCCIA Central Zone Headquarters in Lahore on Sunday.
Action Against Organized Cybercrime
The minister directed authorities to take action against groups involved in online financial fraud and fake accounts.
He also called for stronger measures against digital blackmail and online harassment. Moreover, he stressed that authorities should act against organized networks without discrimination.
Faster Response to Financial Fraud
Naqvi ordered officials to strengthen the response system for financial fraud complaints.
Under the improved mechanism, relevant institutions can coordinate more quickly after victims report fraud. This could help authorities secure victims’ funds and trace suspected offenders.
Modern Digital Forensics
The minister also called for stronger digital forensic capabilities within the agency.
In addition, he directed officials to use modern forensic tools and provide specialized training to investigation officers. These measures aim to improve the agency’s ability to investigate increasingly complex cybercrime cases.
Pakistan’s Cybercrime Response
The latest directives focus on improving investigations, speeding up responses, and strengthening technical capabilities.
As a result, the NCCIA is being directed to adopt more effective tools and procedures for tackling online financial crimes and other digital offenses.
