Karakoram International University (KIU) marked 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China with a tribute rally and cleanliness campaign at Khunjerab Pass.
The China Study Centre (CSC) organized the initiative with KVO and the Forest Department. The event combined the anniversary celebrations with environmental awareness efforts.
Students Join Tribute Rally
Students and faculty members from KIU’s Hunza Campus and Gilgit Main Campus participated in the one-day activity.
The participants held the rally to celebrate the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and China. They also highlighted the importance of people-to-people connections between the two countries.
Cleanliness Drive Promotes Environmental Protection
Alongside the rally, participants launched a cleanliness campaign in the Khunjerab region. The campaign focused on environmental protection, responsible tourism, and conservation.
Moreover, the activity highlighted the need to protect the area’s sensitive mountain ecosystem.

Located along the Pakistan-China border, Khunjerab Pass remains an important symbol of connectivity and cooperation.
