Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for stronger economic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He said Pakistan wants to elevate the relationship into a mutually beneficial strategic economic partnership.
The Prime Minister made the remarks during a meeting with a Saudi business delegation in Islamabad. Prince Mansour bin Mohammad Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi-Pak Joint Business Council, led the delegation.
Focus on Trade and Investment
Shehbaz Sharif discussed ways to expand economic cooperation and investment with Saudi Arabia. He also highlighted the longstanding brotherly ties between the two countries.
Moreover, he expressed hope that the current visit would lead to new agreements. He expects both sides to sign MoUs across several sectors.
The Prime Minister also conveyed his regards to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
Saudi Arabia Eyes Investment Opportunities
The Saudi delegation expressed interest in several key sectors of Pakistan’s economy. These include:
- Agriculture
- Ports
- Highways
- Airport outsourcing
- Real estate
- Energy
- Power distribution
- Information technology
Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the interest and described the current period as an ideal opportunity for joint investment.
G2G and B2B Cooperation
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of both government-to-government (G2G) and business-to-business (B2B) cooperation.
He said stronger private-sector engagement could help unlock new investment opportunities. It could also support economic growth and create stronger commercial links between the two countries.
Saudi Business Community Reaffirms Interest
Prince Mansour thanked the Prime Minister for the warm reception. He reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s interest in expanding business-to-business engagement with Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the delegation is holding meetings with senior government officials and private-sector representatives during its visit.
Strengthening Pakistan-Saudi Economic Ties
The discussions reflect growing efforts to deepen economic cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Both sides are exploring opportunities across infrastructure, energy, agriculture, technology and other sectors.
As a result, the latest engagement could pave the way for new investments, joint ventures and agreements between Pakistani and Saudi businesses.
