Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the security, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and prosperity of Saudi Arabia during a telephone conversation with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The two leaders discussed regional security and the long-standing partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Pakistan Condemns Red Sea Attacks
Prime Minister Shehbaz strongly condemned the recent attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea.
He described the attacks as unacceptable and said they violate international law, threaten freedom of navigation, disrupt commercial shipping, and undermine regional peace, security, and stability.
Moreover, the prime minister stressed the importance of protecting international maritime routes that are vital to global trade.
Pakistan Reaffirms Full Solidarity
During the conversation, Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s complete solidarity with the Kingdom and its leadership.
He said that he, along with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the people of Pakistan, stands firmly with Saudi Arabia during this critical period.
Furthermore, he assured the Saudi leadership that Pakistan would continue working closely with the Kingdom and the international community to promote regional peace and stability.
Commitment to Maritime Security
The prime minister emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to ensuring the uninterrupted flow of lawful maritime commerce through the Red Sea, the Strait of Hormuz, and surrounding waters.
He noted that secure shipping routes are essential for regional stability and the global economy.
Warm Regards to King Salman
Shehbaz also conveyed his best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
In response, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appreciated Pakistan’s steadfast support and praised the close fraternal ties between the two countries.
Strengthening Bilateral Relations
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia continue to maintain strong political, economic, and security cooperation.
The latest conversation reaffirmed both countries’ commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership while working together to promote peace, regional stability, and secure international maritime trade.
