Esmaeil Baqaei stated that the United States bears responsibility for the renewed escalation between Iran and Israel. Moreover, he argued that Israeli actions cannot be separated from US regional policy.
Tehran Links Israel Actions to US Policy
According to Iranian officials, Israel would not conduct military operations without coordination and support from Washington. Therefore, Tehran believes the diplomatic process aimed at de-escalation has been directly affected.
Escalation of Military Strikes
Meanwhile, Israel reported strikes on a petrochemical facility in southwestern Iran, including targets at the Mahshahr complex. In response, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed missile strikes against facilities in Haifa, further intensifying the conflict.
Air Defense Activity and Regional Tensions
At the same time, explosions were reported in central Tehran, followed by activation of air defense systems. Additionally, both sides exchanged missile fire, with reports of multiple interceptions over Israeli territory.
Wider Regional Involvement
Furthermore, the Houthis in Yemen announced missile attacks on Israeli-linked targets and warned of escalation in the Red Sea. As a result, the conflict is increasingly expanding across multiple regional fronts involving allied groups.
Diplomatic Pressure and Ceasefire Efforts
Meanwhile, US political leadership has reportedly pushed for restraint and ongoing negotiations. However, despite diplomatic messaging, both Israel and Iran continue to conduct military operations, raising concerns about further escalation.
