Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is hosting a two-day quadrilateral meeting in Islamabad with Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt to consult on the shifting regional situation.
The foreign ministers of Turkey and Egypt have already arrived in Pakistan, while Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister is expected later today.This meeting follows Iran granting clearance for 20 Pakistan-flagged ships to cross the Strait of Hormuz, easing previous disruptions caused by regional tensions.
Dar welcomed Iran’s gesture on X, calling it constructive and a harbinger of peace, which will help bring stability to the region.The talks are aimed at strengthening diplomatic coordination, ensuring safe maritime trade, and managing the impact of the Gulf crisis on Pakistan and regional partners.
