The Government of Pakistan is moving ahead with plans to introduce a centralized digital business portal under its Digital Economy Enhancement Program. The initiative aims to simplify business registration, licensing, and compliance through a unified system. The project is being spearheaded by the Board of Investment Pakistan, which has invited consultancy firms to help design and implement the platform. The portal is expected to function as a one-window solution by integrating services from federal and provincial departments.
Officials stated that the system will support complete business processes digitally, reducing paperwork and improving efficiency. It will include features such as a unified business ID, automated workflows, AI-based services, and integrated payment solutions aligned with global standards.
The initiative will involve collaboration with institutions like the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication Pakistan and NADRA to ensure smooth integration with existing digital infrastructure.Authorities emphasized that the portal is part of broader institutional reforms, with plans to introduce a dedicated authority for its governance. With a structured timeline and phased rollout, the project reflects Pakistan’s push toward strengthening its digital economy and improving ease of doing business.
