The Pakistan Navy on Wednesday welcomed a warship of the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLA(N)) for participation in the fourth edition of the bilateral maritime exercise, Sea Guardian. The PLA(N) ship Daqing arrived in Pakistan on March 25 and received a ceremonial reception, escorted into port by Pakistan Navy vessels in a traditional welcome.
Scheduled from March 25 to April 2, the exercise aims to strengthen bilateral ties and operational coordination between the two navies, reflecting Pakistan and China’s shared commitment to regional peace and maritime security.
Sea Guardian will include both harbour and sea-phase activities, such as professional exchanges, subject matter expert engagements, and a seminar for young officers on contemporary maritime issues. Operational drills will include gunnery exercises, coordinated patrols, and other maritime security operations to improve interoperability.The ISPR emphasized that the exercise highlights the strong strategic partnership between Pakistan and China and contributes to a stable maritime environment in the region.
