Pakistan and China recently conducted high-level trade discussions to strengthen bilateral economic ties and expand exports in key sectors. The meeting, led by Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan and the Chinese Minister Counsellor, focused on identifying practical measures to boost trade and enhance business collaboration between both countries.
Discussions highlighted high-potential export sectors including rice, seafood, and minerals, along with value-added products like gems and jewellery. Officials emphasized the importance of institutional coordination through TDAP to facilitate meaningful connections between Pakistani exporters and Chinese buyers. This approach aims to make trade more efficient and mutually beneficial.
Both sides also reviewed the ongoing CPFTA 3.0 negotiations, discussing offer and request lists to ensure balanced outcomes. Broader strategic matters were considered as well, including regional connectivity challenges and alignment with China’s 15th Five-Year Plan. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continue dialogue and explore opportunities for expanded trade cooperation.
