A Rs312.406 million project to restore five historical sites in Gwadar is nearing completion under the Gwadar Smart Port City Master Plan 2026. The sites include Rest House (Padgho), Indo-European Telegraph Office, Portuguese and Omani Watchtowers, and Omani Fort.
The project aims to preserve Gwadar’s rich culture and historical legacy for future generations. It will showcase the city’s old structures, boost tourism, and highlight its historical background.
Key restorations include the 18th-century Indo-European Telegraph Office, the culturally significant Rest House, the 16th-century Portuguese Watchtower, and the 18th-century Omani Watchtower. These structures reflect Gwadar’s strategic and cultural importance through centuries.
