Pakistan and China have approved a new joint venture in the footwear manufacturing sector, marking a major step in industrial collaboration between the two countries. Service Global Footwear of Pakistan and China’s Golden Star Footwear Group will combine expertise and resources to boost domestic production.
The Pakistani firm will invest Rs1 billion in non-leather footwear production over five years, holding a 51% stake, while the Chinese partner holds 49%. The project will utilize Service Global’s land and building in Muridke, leased to the Chinese company for one year, facilitating advanced technology transfer.
The joint venture is expected to enhance Pakistan’s footwear industry, improve production quality, and create new employment opportunities. Officials highlighted that this collaboration will strengthen bilateral trade ties and serve as a model for future China-Pakistan industrial projects.
