China has urged Afghanistan to take immediate steps to protect Chinese citizens living or working in the country, as well as Chinese-run projects and institutions. This follows a blast at a restaurant in Kabul that claimed the life of one Chinese citizen and injured five others. The Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and well wishes to those recovering.
Chinese officials highlighted that Afghan authorities should provide urgent medical care to the injured, strengthen security measures, and investigate the incident thoroughly to identify and bring the perpetrators to justice. Embassy personnel are actively supporting the victims and coordinating with local authorities to ensure their safety.
The Ministry reaffirmed China’s firm stance against terrorism and violent attacks, urging Afghanistan to take proactive measures to prevent such incidents. Chinese citizens currently in Afghanistan are advised to remain vigilant, avoid high-risk areas, and take all necessary precautions, while companies are encouraged to review security arrangements to safeguard employees and assets.
