A high-level Pakistani parliamentary delegation, led by National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, departed for China on January 19, 2026, for an official visit until January 21. The visit, by special invitation of the Chairman of China’s National People’s Congress Zhao Leji, represents the first state-level parliamentary delegation from Pakistan in 2026.
The trip coincides with the 75th anniversary of Pakistan–China diplomatic relations, symbolizing the long-standing and all-weather friendship between the two countries. During the visit, the delegation will meet with senior parliamentary and political leaders in China to discuss enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation, mutual understanding, and bilateral collaboration.
Key members of the delegation include Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Romina Khurshid Alam, Convenor of the Pakistan–China Parliamentary Friendship Group MNA Muhammad Numan, Parliamentary Secretary Zeb Jaffar, and MNA Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidery. Both sides plan to commemorate the 75th anniversary through a series of joint events throughout the year, further strengthening the historic Pakistan–China relationship.
