Pakistan’s Foreign Office expressed serious concern over the persecution of religious minorities in India. Recent reports include vandalism of Christmas decorations and attacks targeting Muslims in Chhattisgarh, Assam, Kerala, and Uttar Pradesh ahead of the holiday season.
Ambassador Tahir Andrabi highlighted that these incidents, coupled with alleged state-sponsored campaigns, have fostered fear and alienation among vulnerable communities. Historical cases like the killing of Muhammad Akhlaq in 2015 underscore ongoing risks faced by minorities.
The Foreign Office urged the international community to take notice and implement measures to protect the fundamental rights of minorities in India, emphasizing the need for accountability and prevention of further violence.
