Pakistan and Tajikistan are exploring a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) to enhance trade liberalization and regional economic integration. Ambassador Muhammad Saeed Sarwar highlighted the potential for bilateral trade to reach $300 million in the coming years, with business communities from both countries linking key sectors to boost cooperation.
Significant opportunities exist in the halal meat industry, with Pakistan planning to export 143,000 tons worth $14.5 million to Tajikistan. Ambassador Sarwar emphasized that resuming direct flights and improving marketing strategies will further strengthen trade, tourism, and people-to-people connections between the two nations.
Tajikistan’s robust economic growth and shared cultural, historical, and religious ties provide a strong foundation for expanding bilateral relations. High-level visits and initiatives like Tajik Cultural Week in Islamabad demonstrate ongoing efforts to deepen academic, cultural, and trade collaboration, paving the way for stronger regional cooperation.
