China expressed deep sympathy over the deadly shooting incident in Sydney that resulted in multiple casualties, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiankun said on Monday.
He stated that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi sent a message of condolences to Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, conveying sorrow over the tragic loss of lives.
“The Chinese side expresses heartfelt condolences to the victims and extends sincere sympathies to the injured and the bereaved families,” Guo said while responding to a question during a regular press briefing.
China reaffirmed its solidarity with the Australian people during this difficult time and emphasized shared concerns over violence targeting innocent civilians.
