Jordan’s King Abdullah II presented the Order of the Military Merit of First Degree to Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), recognizing his role in strengthening military cooperation between the two nations. The ceremony was held during the King’s visit to Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS) with Princess Salma bint Abdullah II and a delegation of Jordanian officials.
During the visit, King Abdullah II was briefed on Pakistan’s defence production, technological advancements, and areas for potential bilateral collaboration. COAS Asim Munir emphasized the strong defence partnership and Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing military-to-military cooperation while promoting regional stability.
The royal delegation observed a joint fire and manoeuvre exercise, showcasing multi-domain operations including conventional and air firepower, coordinated troop movements, spectrum warfare capabilities, and multi-purpose drones. The King praised the professionalism, operational readiness, and training standards of the Pakistani troops and aircrews.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed Pakistan’s respect and friendship towards Jordan, highlighting that the visit reinforces enduring mutual trust, strategic cooperation, and a shared vision for peace and development in the region.
