Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s address at the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference has been described by Chinese expert Prof. Cheng Xizhong as a practical roadmap for Pakistan’s stability. He emphasized that linking development to peace, especially through China-Pakistan collaboration, is crucial at both domestic and regional levels.
Prof. Cheng noted that the PM’s focus on inclusive growth, supporting SMEs, empowering youth and women, and engaging global financial institutions, directly addresses key causes of unrest like unemployment and institutional weaknesses. These measures aim to strengthen public trust while fostering sustainable economic growth.
On the regional front, Prof. Cheng highlighted PM Shehbaz Sharif’s emphasis on dialogue over conflict and his commitment to sovereignty. Initiatives such as the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and other international partnerships signal Pakistan’s intent to promote shared prosperity.
The expert further stated that the PM’s call for global unity on peace and development elevates the address beyond national interests, offering a practical model that, if implemented effectively, could transform Pakistan’s stability from an aspiration into reality.
