The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has successfully thwarted a human smuggling attempt in Gwadar’s coastal town of Jiwani, arresting 13 individuals who were trying to cross into Iran illegally by sea.
According to the FIA spokesperson, a team from the FIA Composite Circle Gwadar launched the operation on Wednesday, intercepting a group preparing to leave Pakistan through unauthorised maritime routes.
The detained suspects hail from multiple districts, including Rahim Yar Khan, Qambar-Shahdadkot, Kashmore, Larkana, and Shangla. Preliminary investigations revealed that the group intended to travel onward from Iran to other countries through illegal channels.
Authorities have registered a case against the individuals, while efforts are underway to trace and dismantle the wider network of facilitators and human smugglers behind the operation. The FIA reiterated its commitment to curbing cross-border human trafficking through continued intelligence-led operations across Pakistan’s coastal regions.
