China has called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, stressing that peace cannot come through force. The Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Guo Jiakun, said the worsening humanitarian crisis demands urgent global action. He reaffirmed that Gaza is an inseparable part of Palestinian territory and must remain under Palestinian governance.
Guo pointed out that the UK, Canada, and Australia have already recognised the State of Palestine. In contrast, the United States continues to sell arms to Israel while discussing interim post-war governance with Gulf countries. He urged states with direct influence over Israel to take responsibility and ensure that the principle of “Palestinians governing Palestine” is respected in all future arrangements.
China also reaffirmed its support for the two-state solution, warning against unilateral moves that could undermine peace. Guo stressed that the international community must act quickly to end the hostilities, reduce civilian suffering, and build a path for reconstruction and long-term stability.
Moving forward, China pledged to step up diplomatic efforts with global partners. According to Guo, Beijing will continue supporting the Palestinian cause and push for a just, lasting settlement of the conflict.
