Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to meet Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Beijing today (Thursday) to deepen bilateral cooperation and exchange views on pressing regional and global issues.
The meeting is part of the prime minister’s six-day official visit to China, where he is attending the SCO summits and the Victory Day parade. During his stay, Shehbaz will also hold talks with Chinese Minister for Information Technology and Industry Li Lecheng to explore new avenues of industrial and digital collaboration.
Later in the day, Shehbaz will preside over the second edition of the Pakistan-China Business-to-Business (B2B) Investment Conference. The forum will assess progress achieved since its first edition, held under Shehbaz’s chairmanship in Shenzhen in June 2024, and set future targets for enhanced industrial and investment partnerships between the two countries.
The prime minister’s engagements reflect Islamabad’s commitment to advancing economic cooperation under the CPEC framework while strengthening dialogue on regional stability and multilateral platforms.
