During talks with the Tajik President, both leaders expressed satisfaction with the pace of bilateral cooperation. They reaffirmed their commitment to deepen relations rooted in shared cultural, historical, and religious ties. The meeting covered a wide range of areas, including trade, investment, connectivity, energy, and security. Both sides also stressed the importance of people-to-people exchanges in fostering stronger mutual understanding.
Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasised Pakistan’s readiness to expand trade and energy linkages with Tajikistan. He also underlined the potential of regional connectivity projects to bring prosperity to South and Central Asia. The Tajik leader, in turn, welcomed Pakistan’s commitment and agreed that closer cooperation would benefit both nations.
The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments. They highlighted the need for coordinated approaches to peace, stability, and development across the broader region.
With the Tajik meeting concluded, Prime Minister Shehbaz now looks ahead to his upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Discussions are expected to focus on trade, energy partnerships, and regional security cooperation. The anticipated meeting underscores Pakistan’s growing outreach to both Central Asia and Russia.
During his stay in China, Prime Minister Shehbaz will also hold talks with Premier Li Qiang, interact with Chinese business leaders, and attend a military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the World’s Anti-Fascist War.
By balancing multiple high-level meetings, Shehbaz Sharif is signalling Pakistan’s intent to pursue stronger economic, political, and security ties in the region.
