China will hold its V-Day military parade on September 3, marking the first such event since the country embarked on its “new journey” of advancing Chinese modernisation.
Addressing a press conference, Wu Zeke, senior officer of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission, said the parade will demonstrate the armed forces’ political loyalty, modernisation achievements, and readiness to safeguard national interests.
Wu stressed that the military remains firmly committed to following the command of the Communist Party of China and to upholding its leadership core, highlighting the armed forces’ role as a reliable pillar for both the Party and the people.
This year’s parade will debut the new structural layout of the armed forces and will showcase new-generation equipment, including strategic heavyweight systems, hypersonic precision-strike weapons, and advanced unmanned platforms, many of which will be displayed publicly for the first time.
The event, organised under a wartime command system, will also feature joint formations of armament reflecting their real combat functions. Officials noted that the parade underscores China’s pledge to safeguard international fairness and justice while emphasising its commitment to peace.
Wu concluded that the V-Day military parade is not only a demonstration of modernisation but also a step toward achieving the centenary goal of building a strong military.
