China, U.S. tariff cut to boost trade: NBS stated at a press briefing.
An official from China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) stated at a Monday press briefing that the substantial reduction of tariffs between China and the U.S. is advantageous for enhancing bilateral trade and contributing to the recovery of the global economy.
NBS spokesperson Fu Linghui acknowledged that the current global landscape remains difficult and unpredictable, with increasing unilateralism and protectionist tendencies creating major obstacles for international trade systems and hampering global economic progress.
Despite these challenges, Fu emphasized that the global push for mutually beneficial cooperation remains unchanged and reaffirmed China’s strong commitment to further opening its economy to the world.
Fu also noted that China’s efforts to diversify its foreign trade are making steady progress, and that the nation’s supportive trade policies are producing consistent positive outcomes, helping to ensure the sustained growth of its international trade.
