India must de-escalate tensions, Info Minister
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stated that the responsibility to reduce tensions lies squarely with India, urging it to take steps toward de-escalation.

Speaking to BBC News, Tarar clarified that Pakistan was not the initiator of conflict but acted in self-defense, invoking Article 51 of the United Nations Charter in response to Indian aggression.

He emphasized that Pakistan had shown significant restraint despite India repeatedly targeting civilian areas over the past four days, and asserted that Pakistan only exercised its legitimate right to self-defense.

The Minister underlined that Pakistan limited its response to Indian military targets, contrasting it with India’s actions, which killed innocent civilians, including women and children, who were laid to rest following the attacks.
