Pakistan launches major cyber attack on India as part of counter offensive operation.
Following Pakistan’s successful cyber attack as part of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, several major Indian websites were breached.
Reports indicate that the official website of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was one of the primary targets of the attack.
Other affected sites included the Crime Research Investigation Agency, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), Bharat Earth Movers Limited, and the All India Naval Technical Supervisory Staff Association, according to state media.
In addition to these, sensitive data was reportedly leaked from key Indian institutions such as Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the Border Security Force, and the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
The cyber attack also extended to the databases of the Indian Air Force and the Maharashtra Election Commission, according to APP.
Moreover, hackers gained control of more than 2,500 surveillance cameras across India.
The Pakistani cyber team also targeted Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited, causing a regional blackout.
This breach has led to the erasure of all records related to commercial and domestic meters in Maharashtra State.
