DPM Dar briefs Norway FM on Indian aggression, informing him about the escalating regional situation during a phone conversation.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held a phone conversation with Norway’s Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide today.
During the discussion, Dar informed him about the worsening regional situation due to India’s unlawful and unprovoked strikes on multiple cities in Pakistan, which led to the martyrdom of innocent civilians, including women, children, and the elderly.
He highlighted that Pakistan has shown restraint despite these serious violations of international law and the UN Charter, which pose a threat to regional peace and stability.
Dar reaffirmed that the Government of Pakistan is fully committed to protecting the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Norwegian Foreign Minister Eide expressed deep concern over the escalating situation and extended his condolences over the civilian casualties.
He acknowledged Pakistan’s measured response and emphasized the urgent need for de-escalation and diplomatic solutions to avoid further conflict.
The two leaders also spoke about the current state of Pakistan-Norway bilateral relations.
Eide appreciated the contributions of the Pakistani diaspora to Norway’s social and economic landscape.
Both ministers reiterated their commitment to enhancing mutual cooperation and agreed to remain closely engaged as the situation develops.
