President Xi Jinping congratulates China, Russia cultural exchange event celebrating deep-rooted friendship between the two countries.
Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message on Wednesday to a China-Russia people-to-people and cultural exchange event held to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in both the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Soviet Union’s Great Patriotic War.
In his message, Xi highlighted that eight decades ago, the Chinese and Russian peoples made lasting contributions to the triumph over fascism and cemented a deep-rooted friendship through shared sacrifice, laying the groundwork for strong bilateral relations today.
He noted that, thanks to joint efforts, China-Russia ties have grown stronger and more dynamic, evolving into a model for relations between major powers.
Xi stressed that enhancing cultural and people-to-people exchanges is crucial for deepening mutual understanding, nurturing friendly neighborly ties, and solidifying public support for bilateral cooperation.
He also expressed hope that media organizations from both countries will work together to promote meaningful and engaging exchanges that foster empathy and unity, breathe new life into the comprehensive China-Russia strategic partnership, and contribute to a shared future for humanity.
The event was jointly organized by China Media Group and the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also sent his own congratulatory message to the event on the same day.
