Ambassador Jiang Zaidong calls on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reassuring commitment to goal of peace in the region.
China reaffirmed its commitment to support Pakistan in fulfilling their shared goal of ensuring peace and stability across South Asia.
This assurance was given by Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong during a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House, as stated by the PM Office.
In the meeting, PM Shehbaz extended warm greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, and expressed gratitude for China’s unwavering support amidst the current regional challenges.
The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s consistent condemnation of terrorism in all forms and appreciated China’s backing for his proposal of an impartial and transparent international inquiry into the Pahalgam incident.
He criticized India’s move to manipulate water resources, calling it deeply regrettable, especially since the Indus Waters Treaty does not allow unilateral withdrawal by either side.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that resolving the Jammu and Kashmir issue peacefully is essential for achieving enduring peace in the region.
In a related development, Deputy PM Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reaffirmed their shared commitment to regional peace, mutual respect, and rejection of unilateral actions.
They agreed to maintain strong coordination at all levels to promote peace, security, and sustainable progress both regionally and globally.
Following the Pahalgam attack, Pakistan, with China’s support, successfully thwarted India’s efforts to manipulate the narrative at the UN Security Council.
