The reopening of the Khunjerab Pass has introduced a fresh chapter in the progress of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
During a virtual conference between senior officials from both countries, Pakistan and China pledged to enhance cooperation aimed at shared development goals.
Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan described the occasion as a landmark moment not just for the region, but for the entire nation.
He emphasized that keeping the Khunjerab border operational throughout the year would serve as a vital economic boost.
Xinjiang Governor Erkin Tuniyaz remarked that Pakistan-China relations have now entered a new and promising era.
He also expressed commitment to collaborating with Gilgit-Baltistan’s leadership in promoting peace, progress, and shared prosperity.
To support this, the Chinese side showcased a documentary outlining the customs clearance processes.
