China is closely monitoring the developments in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and urges all parties to ensure the sustained and effective implementation of the ceasefire agreement, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated on Tuesday.
During a routine press briefing, spokesperson Mao Ning addressed a question regarding Israel’s large-scale military operation in the Gaza Strip earlier that morning, which violated the ceasefire. Reports indicate that over 300 people, mostly women and children, have been killed, with civilian casualties continuing to rise.
Mao emphasized the need for all parties to uphold the ceasefire agreement, avoid actions that could escalate the conflict, and prevent a further worsening of the humanitarian crisis.
