Pakistan, China sign MoU to boost IT and E-Commerce ties as it aims to jointly promote a leading trade fair in Pakistan.
To enhance cooperation between Pakistan and China in the fields of information technology (IT) and e-commerce, the Guangzhou Tianhe Software and Information Industry Association from China and E-commerce Gateway Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). This agreement, finalized recently, focuses on the joint promotion of ITCN Asia 2025, a leading IT and e-commerce trade fair in Pakistan. The event is set to take place in Lahore and Karachi from May 9-11 this year.
The signing ceremony was attended by Muhammad Imran, Acting Consul General and Trade & Investment Counsellor, who emphasized the importance of this partnership. Imran stated that this collaboration reflects a mutual commitment to strengthening Pakistan-China relations in the IT and e-commerce sectors, further fostering bilateral trade and investment opportunities.
Tianhe District, often referred to as the “Silicon Valley of Guangzhou,” hosts some of China’s most innovative tech firms and startups. The Guangzhou Tianhe Software and Information Industry Association plays a key role in driving technological advancements, promoting international collaborations, and supporting the expansion of the digital economy in the region.
Meanwhile, E-commerce Gateway Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. is a leading organization in Pakistan focused on developing the country’s IT and e-commerce industry. It has played a significant role in organizing major trade exhibitions, including ITCN Asia, which has grown into a landmark event for the IT and e-commerce sectors in Pakistan.
