Chinese legislators plan to enhance research on laws related to emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, the digital economy, and big data, as outlined in a recent report.
The report on the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), China’s highest legislative body, was submitted for review during the ongoing third session of the 14th NPC on Saturday.
As per the report, the Standing Committee of the 14th NPC aims to deliberate on 34 bills this year, focusing on high-quality legislative advancements.
Beyond high-tech legislation, lawmakers also intend to introduce a law to promote ethnic unity, strengthen national identity, and foster a cohesive Chinese community.
Additionally, China plans to draft a law supporting the private sector, enact financial regulations, and continue efforts to compile an environmental code, the report stated.
