China and Pakistan space agreement marks key milestone, Minister Tarar stated during document exchange ceremony.
Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage, and Culture, Attaullah Tarar, stated on Friday that the agreement between the Chinese Space Agency and Pakistan’s Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) for the country’s first manned space mission marks a significant milestone.
Speaking at the document exchange ceremony for space research cooperation between Pakistan and China, he expressed gratitude for the Chinese government’s support.
He commended SUPARCO’s efforts in line with the Prime Minister’s vision, emphasizing that Pakistan-China collaboration in the space sector is a source of national pride.
Tarar highlighted that Chinese astronauts would train their Pakistani counterparts, enabling them to travel to the Chinese Space Station within a year.
He further noted that, under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, the government is prioritizing the advancement of space research.
With China’s assistance, Tarar expressed confidence that Pakistan’s green crescent flag would soon reach space, marking a historic achievement for the nation.
