Gwadar’s PCFH treats 150,000 patients in six months providing quality healthcare facilities to locals.
The Pak-China Friendship Hospital, operated by the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA), has provided medical care to over 150,000 patients in the last six months. Managed by the Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), this state-of-the-art China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project delivers quality healthcare services to residents of Gwadar and surrounding areas.
During this period, a total of 153,252 patients were treated at the hospital, with admitted patients receiving free medicines and meals.
The hospital’s emergency department handled 18,190 cases, while the family medicine and general outpatient department (OPD) was the busiest, attending to 60,465 patients.
The pediatric OPD recorded 32,875 visits, and the internal medicine OPD provided care to 6,014 patients. The general surgery department treated 5,527 individuals, with 304 undergoing surgical procedures. The orthopedic surgery OPD managed 5,229 patients, including 230 surgeries.
Additionally, the dental OPD provided treatment to 4,636 patients, while the urology and nephrology OPD catered to 2,822 cases, with 23 surgeries performed.
The maternity and child health department remained one of the hospital’s busiest sections, handling 15,437 cases and delivering 1,260 babies.
Moreover, 176 patients availed the hospital’s CT scan services in the last six months.
In late January, the hospital expanded its services by launching Blood Bank Services, further enhancing medical care in Gwadar. The facility, equipped with a high-tech Cryofuge machine, provides specialized blood components for patients with trauma, childbirth complications, liver conditions, and blood disorders.
