China’s exports expand to over 160 countries and regions in 2024, according to the General Administration of Customs (GAC).
The nation’s exports experienced a 7.1 percent year-on-year increase, totaling 25.45 trillion yuan (approximately 3.55 trillion U.S. dollars) last year. This marks the eighth consecutive year of export growth, as per the latest GAC data.
Exports to Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia saw notable rises of 23.3 percent, 19.2 percent, and 18.2 percent, respectively. Trade with ASEAN nations and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) also grew, recording increases of 13.4 percent and 9.6 percent, respectively. Additionally, exports to major traditional markets like the European Union and the United States climbed by 4.3 percent and 6.1 percent, respectively.
Despite global uncertainties and economic challenges, China’s exports are expected to remain strong and adaptable due to a diverse range of products and continued support from government policies, said Lyu Daliang, an official from the GAC.
