Xi urges advancing new milestones in China-Sri Lanka collaboration while meeting Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
China will actively support Sri Lanka’s focus on economic growth, with both nations working together to advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, alongside collaborations in modern agriculture, digital economy, and marine industries, Chinese President Xi Jinping stated on Wednesday.
Xi highlighted that China’s deepening reforms to advance modernization would create fresh opportunities for Sri Lanka’s development. He made these remarks during talks with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who is visiting China on a state visit.
Emphasizing the longstanding friendship between the two nations, Xi noted that their bilateral ties have remained stable and robust over the past 68 years, serving as a model for friendly coexistence and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Through joint efforts, China and Sri Lanka have strengthened their strategic cooperative partnership, marked by mutual assistance and enduring friendship. This collaboration, particularly under the Belt and Road framework, has yielded significant outcomes, benefiting the people of both countries.
Xi called for a strategic approach to bilateral relations, aiming to build a China-Sri Lanka community with a shared future.
