The D87 train from the China-Laos Railway arrived at Vientiane Station in Laos, marking the start of the China-Laos Railway Spring Festival cultural event. This is the first cross-border Spring Festival travel train of the year, and passengers were warmly greeted upon disembarking.
Departing from Kunming, Yunnan Province, a unique cross-border Spring Festival Gala was held. Renowned Chinese and Lao singers performed in the train carriages and station, offering over 50 performances. The event featured a blend of traditional ethnic songs and dances from Yunnan’s Xishuangbanna and Laos.
Passengers enjoyed performances while sharing stories of China-Laos friendship, and onboard, they sampled Pu’er tea and Yunnan coffee, with window decorations setting a festive Chinese New Year ambiance. This event marks the beginning of the 2025 “One River, One Family” cultural activities in Laos.
From January 14 to 16, Laos will hold various Spring Festival cultural activities, including a market showcasing intangible cultural heritage. This will allow both Chinese and Lao people to experience the traditions of the Chinese New Year. Additionally, a media dialogue on the China-Laos Cultural Corridor will take place.
