Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djurić in Tianjin on Friday to discuss strengthening bilateral ties.
Wang Yi emphasized the enduring friendship between China and Serbia, describing their relationship as aligned with the trajectory of history. He expressed China’s readiness to collaborate with Serbia to open new avenues for their partnership.
Highlighting China’s progress in advancing its high-level opening-up system, Wang noted that this approach not only fosters China’s development but also creates new opportunities for cooperation with Serbia and other nations.
Wang welcomed Serbia’s collaboration in achieving mutual modernization goals and reaffirmed China’s unwavering support for Serbia in safeguarding its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, as well as fostering its development and growth.
Marko Djurić stated that deepening ties with China is a widely supported consensus in Serbia, reiterating Serbia’s commitment to the one-China policy and its support for China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Djurić emphasized Serbia’s dedication to implementing the consensus reached by the two nations’ leaders and advancing their bilateral relationship. He expressed support for China’s major initiatives, cooperation with Central and Eastern European countries, and close coordination with China to address global challenges together.
