On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, made important instructions, extended cordial greetings to the vast number of cadres and workers in the national supply and marketing cooperative system, and expressed warm congratulations to the advanced collectives and individuals who were commended.
Xi Jinping pointed out that over the past 70 years, the Supply and Marketing Cooperatives have always focused on the Party’s central tasks and actively served the overall situation. They have played a positive role in serving urban and rural residents, prospering the rural economy, helping to fight poverty, increasing farmers’ income, and promoting rural revitalization.
Xi Jinping stressed that in the new era and new journey, the Party committees and governments at all levels should further strengthen their leadership and support for the work of supply and marketing cooperatives and make full use of this force. Supply and marketing cooperatives should earnestly implement the new development concept, take root in agriculture and rural areas, focus on their main responsibilities and businesses, deepen comprehensive reforms, strengthen mechanism innovation, continue to build a comprehensive platform to serve farmers’ production and life and promote the development of modern agriculture, serve as a bridge and link for the Party and the government to closely connect with the farmers, strive to write a new chapter in the high-quality development of the supply and marketing cooperative cause, and make greater contributions to promoting the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas and accelerating the construction of an agricultural power.
Li Qiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, issued an instruction pointing out that supply and marketing cooperatives should thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions and the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee, bear in mind their mission and responsibilities, give full play to their unique advantages, deepen reform and innovation, focus on improving their management level, continuously consolidate the foundation of services for farmers, further promote the high-quality development of key tasks such as agricultural supplies, circulation of agricultural products, agricultural social services, and recycling of renewable resources, better serve farmers’ production and life, and play a greater role in promoting urban-rural integration and accelerating agricultural and rural modernization.
The commemoration meeting for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives was held in Beijing on the 28th.
