The Chancay Port project, a landmark project of the Belt and Road Initiative in Latin America, includes multipurpose berths, specialized container berths and other infrastructure facilities, backed by a total investment of $1.3 billion.
Once completed, it is set to become a new green, low-carbon, smart port with the highest container ship capacity in South America, along with the most advanced equipment. This development will establish a new connection and communication bridge for friendly exchanges between China and Peru.
He Bo, executive deputy general manager of COSCO Shipping Ports Chancay Peru, has been working on the project for five years, experiencing its entire journey.
