New military equipment, such as the J-35A fighter jet, will make its debut at the upcoming 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, also known as Airshow China, the Chinese Air Force announced on Tuesday.
In addition to the J-35A medium-sized stealth fighter, the HQ-19 surface-to-air missile system and a new attack reconnaissance drone will be showcased for the first time at the event, according to Niu Wenbo from the Air Force equipment department, speaking at a press conference.
Scheduled for November 12-17 in Zhuhai, southern China, the air show will feature various activities, including aerobatic performances, said Air Force spokesperson Xie Peng.
Aircraft flying at the event will include models like the J-20, J-16, and the YY-20A for refueling, with the Y-20 cargo plane’s cargo hold open for public viewing.
The exhibition coincides with the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force, which is celebrated on November 11.
